It is extremely important for young people to know where they come from and what the history is of the place in which they live. An important skill is acquiring this knowledge by analysing historical sources and talking to witnesses of history.
As part of the project, participants from Lower Silesia took part in history workshops, educational games, meetings with witnesses of history, museum and archival lessons, and a research camp in Wrocław. They learned about the history of their relatives and interesting members of the local community. After the project is completed, an e-publication entitled “Wrota Solidarności” will be issued, featuring the participants’ work from three regions of Poland.
Students from the following schools in our region took part in the project activities: Primary School in Kruszyn, Primary School in Żeliszów and Primary School in Szczytnica. The project was supported by the Public Libraries in Kruszyn and Żeliszów, the State Archives branch in Bolesławiec and the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec.
Stowarzyszenie „Solidarni Razem” would like to thank all project participants and everyone involved in its implementation, with special recognition for their commitment to the project’s progress going to Grażyna Wężyk, Danuta Kędzierska, Honorata Ambroszko, Dariusz Kunaszko and Sebastian Zielonka.
The project is carried out by Stowarzyszenie „Solidarni Razem” and co-financed by the Ministry of National Education as part of the task entitled: “Programme supporting the development of exceptionally talented pupils.”
