The incident occurred on Thursday, December 19, in the evening, in a multi-family building in Raciborowice Dolne (Warta Bolesławiecka municipality).

The fire broke out in one of the apartments. Two people evacuated from the smoke-filled area before the fire brigade arrived.

One person was injured. The man, who suffered burns to his face and hands, was initially treated by firefighters and then handed over to a medical rescue team. The burned man was taken to hospital.

As reported on the Facebook profile of volunteer firefighters from Raciborowice:

The dog, which for some time was in the area directly affected by high temperatures and exhaust gases, did not survive the fire.

During the fire, there were four propane-butane gas cylinders in the apartment. They were removed and cooled. The fire was extinguished and did not spread to other rooms.

Firefighters from the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec (three units), as well as volunteers from Warta Bolesławiecka (two units) and Raciborowice, took part in the operation.

The police are investigating the cause of the incident.

It is worth adding that two new fire trucks took part in the operation: a Bolesławiec Scania and a Volvo belonging to the volunteer firefighters from Warta Bolesławiecka. For the Scania, which the Bolesławiec firefighters received recently, this was one of its first callouts.
