On Monday, December 16, the commander of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade (10BKPanc), Brigadier General Artur Pikoń, met with the Brigade’s command staff at a Christmas Eve gathering organized at the military club in Świętoszów.
The gathering began with a concert by children and young people from the Fama dance and vocal ensemble. (These young artists are the children of Brigade employees and soldiers.) After the concert, everyone could listen to Christmas carols performed by the Żagań military orchestra.
Then, with Christmas approaching, the Brigade commander extended his warmest wishes to everyone, addressing those gathered:
May this upcoming holiday season be an opportunity for reflection for all of you, but above all, for spending special moments with your loved ones. I wish you health and peace of mind; may all your everyday worries disappear, at least for a moment.
After the commander offered his wishes, everyone present also exchanged good wishes while sharing the Christmas wafer. Then they all sat down to eat the symbolic 12 Christmas Eve dishes. The atmosphere was truly festive.
In addition, in the afternoon of the same day, Brigadier General A. Pikoń met with veterans, wounded veterans and their families for a joint soldiers’ Christmas Eve gathering. The commander wished everyone present that this Christmas season, spent in the warmth of family, would be the factor that made it easier for them to overcome everyday hardships.
Armored Cavalry Soldiers:
Christmas is a time when we all sit down at a shared table, break the Christmas wafer, sing carols, and set aside grievances and misunderstandings. We wish all soldiers and employees of the Ministry of National Defence, as well as all supporters of our Brigade, that the holiday season may be the time when all worries and sadness disappear. May it be a time of joy that gives strength for the days ahead.
Wishing you a healthy and peaceful Christmas!
