On Monday, December 9, the Bolesławiec prosecutor’s office filed an indictment with the Bolesławiec District Court against Joanna Ś., a former candidate for mayor of Nowogrodziec. Investigators accuse Ś. of forging the signature of Leszek Socha, vice-president of the Obywatelskie Stowarzyszenie Inicjatyw Lokalnych VE-TO in Nowogrodziec, on a document nominating a candidate for lay judge.
Officials from Nowogrodziec who verified the document in question filed a notification of suspected criminal activity.
The case has gone to court. The former candidate for head of the Nowogrodziec Municipality faces between three months and five years in prison.
