For several years, Maciej Kołodziejski has supported the Powiatowe Centrum Pomocy Rodzinie in Bolesławiec in organizing the Integration Picnic for foster families, helping to obtain the awards and equipment necessary to prepare the event.

Maciej helps people with disabilities who use wheelchairs because he himself was in a wheelchair for almost four years and knows what it means to be in such a difficult situation: to suffer oneself and see loved ones suffer. He helped Wojciech Marszałek, who uses a wheelchair, build an access ramp. Also thanks to Maciej's efforts, the manager of the shopping park near the PKS bus station lowered the curbs, improving the park's accessibility for people with disabilities.

On our portal, thanks to Maciej, we published an article asking for help for a four-person family from Bolesławiec struggling with poverty and the mother's illness: People of goodwill, let us help Mrs. Ewa!

Mrs. Ewa expressed her gratitude for the support in these words:

I don't know what is happening to me; my heart is becoming warm. It is wonderful that there are people of goodwill in this world. I am grateful with all my heart for Mr. Maciek's kindness. He took an interest in me, my illness and my family's struggles and wrote a report about me and my family, helping us in this way. Both gentlemen, Maciej and Paweł (a stylist at the MATRIX hair salon), are people who are deeply sensitive to others. They both have great hearts. Thanks to them, I felt like a valuable and beautiful woman. My daughters and I would never have dared to dream of such a beautiful day.

We congratulate and admire everyone nominated for the Volunteer of the Year award. This year's winners are: Barbara Smoleńska, president of the Towarzystwo Miłośników Lwowa i Kresów Południowo-Wschodnich, Adult Volunteer, and Karolina Marta Friedek, Youth Volunteer. More about the event can be read in the article “People Who Bring Kindness. We Know the Volunteers of the Year”.
