Mariusz Paluch is a fulfilled man, the husband of a loving wife and the father of a wonderful daughter. Professionally, he works as a tattoo artist and has run his own “61 Sixty One Tattoo Studio” since 2012. In his free time, he devotes himself to painting and drawing.

He creates designs which he then brings to life on various types of substrates—canvas, paper or wood. He has completed many original tattoo projects, which undoubtedly gave him the skills and solid preparation for painting. Although, as he says, he has been connected with drawing and painting “for as long as he can remember,” he began creating seriously in 2014. He has developed a particular preference for acrylic techniques. He is also the author of numerous murals and street-art projects, including those created during the 2018 Bolesławiec Ceramics Festival.

In terms of subject matter and form, Mariusz’s paintings can be placed within the current of pop-art experiments. His work is not confined to a single scheme, instead revolving around various issues connected with the reality surrounding him—a reality transformed by his inner self, sensitive to form, colour and the given moment. He draws inspiration from diverse phenomena of mass culture. He extracts from it motifs that interest him and which play a key role in his later painting projects. Each painting is another story about what he feels in relation to the objective world as he finds it. The emotions within him are important in the creative process. Everything begins with them. He then reaches for the artistic means of expression that suit him and “pours onto the canvas what is playing in his soul.” The representational layers in his paintings sometimes evoke metaphysical associations, extend beyond the rationality of experience and create an illusion that is attractive in its message and, although impossible to exist in the physical world, true in its meaning.

From the artist:
For me, creativity is the oxygen of life. I want to convey my emotions, pour them onto the canvas, and give strength, faith and moments of reflection in this grey and increasingly corrupted world. I want to add colour to the world and bring others a smile.
