A dangerous incident occurred on Saturday afternoon in the municipal park in Ścinawa. For unknown reasons, a 62-year-old resident of Wołów County fell into the river, became entangled in undergrowth and was unable to get out onto the bank on his own. The man was spotted by children passing by, who notified the duty officer at the Lubin police headquarters.

Lubin police:

After receiving the report, a patrol of Lubin community police officers was immediately sent to the scene. The officers found a group of children who pointed out to them where the man was located.

The police officers spotted the 62-year-old man, who was submerged in the water; only his head was visible.

Without hesitation, the community police officers entered the river, freed the man from the undergrowth and pulled him onto the bank, providing first aid as quickly as possible.

The officers removed his soaked outer clothing and covered the man with a thermal blanket while monitoring his vital signs.

The victim showed signs of significant hypothermia. The man's body temperature, measured by the rescuers, was only 30 degrees.

The man, who was handed over to a medical rescue team, was taken to hospital with symptoms of hypothermia.
