The authorities of Legnickie Pole have an idea for protecting residents of their commune from the troublesome noise of the A4 motorway. Noise barriers are extremely expensive, so the commune officials have opted for… traditionally Polish trees, such as maple and sycamore.

Why these trees in particular? Because they absorb sound energy very effectively.

The green belt, for which trees at least 2 metres tall were selected, is now being planted by the sports field being built near the motorway. (It is worth noting that the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways has no objection to this.)

Ultimately, the commune wants to plant green rows of trees along the motorway throughout its territory, on both sides.

What do you think? We invite you to join the discussion. Are there any places in our county where rows of trees like these would be useful? Please post your suggestions in the comments.
