For the second time, the Curulis Sp. z o.o. advisory team analyzed 339 local government units that are also county seats. The ranking shows the differences in the costs incurred by residents for municipal services. The annual expenditure incurred by a family in Bolesławiec amounts to PLN 1,975.07, while Milicz comes last, with costs amounting to PLN 4,954.83.
Bolesławiec’s eleventh-place ranking puts it in a very good position in terms of residents’ annual expenditure on municipal services. In the category of towns with fewer than 50,000 residents, Bolesławiec ranks 10th among 250 localities.
It is worth recalling that the Curulis ranking is based on an estimate of the annual costs incurred by an average family for municipal services: water supply and wastewater treatment, waste collection, public transport, and paid parking zones. Local government authorities are responsible for properly organizing these municipal services.
– In 2019, price increases mainly affected waste collection fees, as well as water supply and wastewater treatment charges. We can expect this to be only the beginning of substantial increases. Higher minimum wages, more expensive energy, and unfavorable developments in the “waste market” will probably accelerate the increase in municipal service costs in 2020 and subsequent years – we read in the introductory statement by Mateusz Klupczyński, president of Curulis.
