Officers from the Traffic Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, while patrolling the city, stopped a vehicle driven by a 40-year-old resident of Opole Voivodeship for inspection.

The driver was travelling at 106 km/h in a built-up area, where the speed limit is 50 km/h. The officers confiscated his driving licence and fined him.

Bolesławiec police:

We remind you that, under the applicable regulations, any road user who exceeds the speed limit in a built-up area by at least 50 km/h will lose their driving licence for 3 months. The document is taken directly by the police officer conducting the inspection.

The officers add:

If, despite the ban, such a person continues to drive, the period for which their driving entitlement is withdrawn will be extended to 6 months.

If the situation occurs again during this period, the starosta will issue a decision revoking the driving entitlement. This will mean that the person will have to retake the driving test.
