The construction site has been handed over, and the contractor has begun designing a plan for the temporary reorganization of traffic. Alternating traffic is expected to be introduced. District:

Completely closing the bridge to traffic is being considered only in an exceptional situation and for the shortest possible time—if such a need arises at all—if it is not possible to carry out the work in just one lane.

Let us recall. After the tender was decided, it turned out that the contractor had offered a price nearly PLN 500,000 lower than the amount planned in the District’s 2019 budget. “Thanks to this, we have made significant savings,” the district governor adds.

The district authorities had assumed that the renovation would cost approximately PLN 3,000,000, of which, under an agreement with the Municipal Commune, the municipal authorities declared PLN 750,000, while PLN 750,000 was the District’s contribution.

The remaining amount was obtained from the Government Roads Fund. This is money at the disposal of the voivode. “According to the information provided by the Lower Silesian voivode, we already know that the subsidy is significantly higher,” Tomasz Gabrysiak said. “Instead of the 50 percent we applied for, we will receive 80 percent, or PLN 2,320,000.”

What work will be carried out?

The bridge renovation will involve dismantling elements of the deck, reprofiling and shaping slopes on the roadway and sidewalks by applying a profiling layer to the deck slab with PCC mortars and sidewalk caps, renovating the supports, and protecting the structural elements of the spans against corrosion.

The work is scheduled to last—according to the plan—until the end of August 2020. District officials:

We sincerely apologize for any traffic disruptions and ask for your understanding.
