In the Forum cinema’s June programme, one of the film offerings is Lars von Trier’s “Antichrist”. The film is so controversial that it should be watched and judged for oneself. Critics either praise it, considering it cruelly beautiful, or condemn it for artistic immaturity.

Cruelty, uncensored intercourse scenes and various horrors—all of this makes up the film “Antichrist”. It is praised most for its visual side and the special effects created in Poland by the makers of “The Cathedral”. It was booed by the audience at Cannes. It divided viewers into those who love it and those who hate it.

Even in our town, someone anonymously called the Forum cinema and announced a protest against the film. The staff were perfectly prepared to receive any potential crowd. The film is screened late, at 9:15 p.m., and before buying a ticket, a younger viewer must show an identity document with their date of birth. The film is permitted for audiences aged 18 and over. The trailers carry the information: adults only. No one younger was admitted to a screening.

One internet user writes about the film: “The film Antichrist is alive and does not allow others to live. It is like a virus that fiercely fights our defence mechanism. We are afraid of the emotions contained on the small screen and do not want to allow ourselves to express them.” The Forum cinema invites you. You can write your own review of “Antichrist”.
