Thanks to financial support from the county authorities, the Bolesławiec hospital purchased the necessary medical equipment for orthopedic procedures—hip replacement surgeries.

County officials:

These procedures are not subject to National Health Fund limits. In practice, this means that the hospital will receive reimbursement for every number of artificial hip joints implanted.

As recently as the first half of this year, the ZOZ performed—at most—up to three procedures of this type per month. Since September, this number has increased more than tenfold. In December, the hospital plans to perform 40–50 hip replacement surgeries, which should reduce the waiting list even more effectively.

The current waiting time for surgery in Bolesławiec is the shortest in Lower Silesia.
