In the coming days, many of us will visit the graves of our loved ones. Increased traffic at cemeteries and in their vicinity is ongoing, so police officers remind everyone of several important rules, so that this time of contemplation and reflection is not disrupted by unpleasant or dangerous incidents:

  • when going to the cemetery, do not take large amounts of money with you. We will not need them there, and they may become the loot of pickpockets. Take only as much cash as you will need to buy candles and bouquets
  • when tidying the grave and its surroundings and lighting candles, do not take your eyes off your handbag, coat or other valuable belongings
  • when leaving your car in a parking lot, make sure that you have locked it properly (door locks, the trunk and windows). Also, do not leave valuable items in plain sight
  • when walking to the cemetery, often along a road without a sidewalk, remember to wear the required reflective elements, which will make you visible after dark
  • while at the cemetery, pay attention to people around you who appear to be there without any clear purpose. If their behavior is suspicious, inform cemetery staff or the police.
