On Friday (26 June), joint exercises were held involving firefighters, paramedics, the police and military police. The simulated accident took place on the new A-4 motorway. According to the scenario, a tour coach hit a viaduct pillar and blocked traffic. Three passenger cars additionally collided with the bus. One of them overturned and ended up in a roadside ditch. Twenty-six people were injured in the accident. Approximately 60 firefighters, ambulances from Bolesławiec, Legnica, Zgorzelec and Lubań, as well as 30 police and military police officers, took part in the rescue operation.

The exercises were organized by the Crisis Management Department of the Bolesławiec County Office. The rescue operation was observed, among others, by County Governor Cezary Przybylski, Fire Service Commander Grzegorz Kocon and District Prosecutor Adam Zieliński. The main aim of the exercises was to improve cooperation between the individual services in the event of an accident involving many people.
