A Polish man with a British driving licence was stopped in Tomisław (Osiecznica commune), where he was travelling at 111 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. The man was fined and received 10 penalty points, and his driving licence was confiscated.

Bolesławiec police:

Drivers who disregard road traffic regulations must reckon with the consequences of speeding, including the possibility of losing their driving licence for 3 months. We remind you that driving at high speed always poses a threat both to people travelling in the speeding vehicle and to other road users. Speed is, after all, a key factor affecting the risk of road accidents; it is also decisive for the type and extent of injuries suffered by participants in road incidents.

And adds:

Especially in autumn, when weather conditions are changeable, it is important to remember to adjust your speed to the prevailing conditions, rather than only to the limits indicated by road signs.
