The exercises were held as part of the project “Improving cross-border cooperation between Polish and German police in combating vehicle crime,” prepared by the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław together with the police in Görlitz.

The aim of the initiative is to “strengthen cross-border cooperation between Lower Silesian and Saxon officers in preventing and combating vehicle crime, including preventing the theft of cars, car parts and fuel.”

Provincial Police Headquarters:

The outcome of the exercises conducted as part of the project is the development of a joint procedure for cross-border operational activities. The training will enable officers to be better prepared for activities such as cross-border pursuits and cross-border surveillance.

The knowledge acquired during specialist language training held in mid-September this year in Zgorzelec as part of the project will help communication between the services, reducing difficulties caused by language barriers during joint cross-border operations.

The officers add:

The actions undertaken as part of the project will result in increased safety for residents of the border area and tourists.

The total value of the project is €23,522.52.
