“For those with silver hair and golden hearts, and about them…” — this thought guided the Senior Citizens’ Day celebrations in Bolesławiec. Bolesławiec City Hall:

The annual October gathering is also an opportunity to draw attention to the concerns and problems of Bolesławiec’s oldest residents and — above all — to highlight the potential of their experience, achievements and values, from which the younger generation can benefit.

During the ceremony, Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman congratulated the esteemed seniors and wished them many years of health and activity.

The Bolesławiec Senior Citizens’ Day celebrations were enhanced by performances from the BOK–MCC contemporary dance and theatre workshops. The event also featured information stands for seniors prepared by: NZOZ Provita, the Provincial Hospital for the Nervous and Mentally Ill, the Social Insurance Institution in Bolesławiec and the Bolesławiec Healthcare Complex.

Bolesławiec police officers also joined efforts on behalf of older and isolated people. A district officer and a press officer from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters spoke with seniors about their safety; they reminded them to exercise caution and not to let strangers into their homes. Leaflets, reflective items and bicycle lights were distributed.

Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters:

Bolesławiec seniors are very aware of the dangers to which they are exposed. It turned out that they regularly follow media reports about various criminal incidents.

The officers add:

All the conversations took place in a very pleasant atmosphere; with smiles on their faces, the seniors spoke about their respect for the district officers responsible for their area.
