Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyna received a report of a break-in and vehicle theft on September 13. The car, worth several thousand złoty, was found by officers that same day. The police handed the vehicle over to its owner.
But that was not the end of the story. While the victim had gone to arrange a tow truck to transport her property, the criminal... managed to steal the vehicle again.
On September 19, as a result of operational activities, officers located the vehicle in question again. This time, a man suspected of both thefts was sitting behind the wheel.
The 24-year-old resident of Bolesławiec was arrested. He confessed to both break-ins. Moreover, it emerged that he had been driving the stolen car despite a court-imposed driving ban.
The suspect now faces up to 10 years in prison.
