The incident took place in the summer at the Bolesławiec municipal office. A 50-year-old resident of Bolesławiec entered the office Artur K. and told the secretary that he would come another day, but this time with a gun, and... kill the mayor.
The officials notified the police, who reacted immediately; within 30 minutes, they arrested the suspect.
The proceedings in this case are being conducted by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec. Investigators are waiting for a forensic psychiatric opinion to determine whether K. was legally sane when he committed the crime. The man could face up to two years in prison.
Mayor Piotr Roman announces that additional security measures will be introduced at the office, but immediately adds that he will not walk around the city with a security detail.
