On Wednesday, Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg visited Bolesławiec. The Member of the European Parliament came to thank all those who worked on the election campaign for SLD, as well as those who voted for her.
The meeting took place at the Water and Sports Centre on Spacerowa Street. About 60 SLD members and supporters attended. The MEP was welcomed by the chairman of the SLD District Council and deputy starost, Stanisław Chwojnicki. Chwojnicki spoke about preparations for the election and the election campaign in the region. In his view, SLD achieved a very good result in Bolesławiec County—15.4% of the vote. The chairman of the SLD District Council congratulated Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg on her re-election to the European Parliament.
The MEP thanked everyone for their work, which contributed to her election result—nearly 66,000 votes in the constituency. During the remainder of the meeting, Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg and Stanisław Chwojnicki presented SLD activists and supporters with certificates thanking them for their involvement in the election campaign. The deputy starost also thanked the organisers and sponsors of the May sporting event “Run with Europe”. After the thanks, it was time for commemorative photographs with the MEP. The meeting ended with everyone eating grilled sausages and kaszanka.
