Officers were carrying out procedures in a case involving a break-in at an Opel Insignia, which occurred on September 3 in Jelenia Góra. The perpetrator stole a laptop worth PLN 3,000.

On September 10, officers detained a 21-year-old resident of Żary County, who was charged, among other things, in connection with this case.

During further activities, police identified and charged two men, aged 21 and 26, with handling stolen goods. The first to buy the stolen laptop was the 21-year-old; the equipment then ended up in the hands of the 26-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra County, who was detained on September 11.

The place where the stolen property was being kept was identified. It turned out that the man was storing the computer at an acquaintance’s home in Podgórzyn Municipality. Officers recovered the stolen property.

The handlers of stolen goods now face up to five years in prison. The thief may be imprisoned for up to ten years.
