The incident occurred on September 10, at around 4:20 a.m., on Wincentego Pola Street in Jelenia Góra. Officers spotted a Dodge there whose driver, upon seeing the police car, suddenly changed direction and accelerated.
The officers decided to stop him for a check. However, the Dodge driver did not respond to the officers' signals; on the contrary, he began to flee. The police gave chase.
The 37-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra was detained immediately after he drove into a closed-off street in Dąbrowica and then, while reversing, hit a police car.
The man's behavior indicated that he may have been under the influence of drugs. His blood was taken for testing.
The 37-year-old could now face up to five years in prison.
