Lwówek criminal investigators encountered an unusual situation. A resident of Lwówek County reported to the local police duty officer that she had received a phone call from a man who offered her… the chance to buy back a package containing items she had ordered.
At the same time, a courier working for one of the delivery companies reported to the police station that three packages worth more than PLN 700 had been stolen.
The police—working closely with the victim—launched an operation to arrest the thief. The 29-year-old was caught in the act while attempting to resell the stolen items.
The man was arrested and taken into police custody. The packages were returned to their owners.
The “Napoleon of crime” explained to the officers that he wanted to take advantage of the fact that the customers’ phone numbers were displayed on the packages. He could now face up to five years in prison.
