The incident took place on Wednesday, 4 September, at around 10:20, on the exit from Bolesławiec towards Lwówek Śląski (road 297). The driver of a Toyota, a 40-year-old resident of Lwówek Śląski, was overtaking improperly and sideswiped an oncoming Fiat driven by a 69-year-old resident of Bolesławiec.
The second vehicle left the road and ended up in a ditch. Two people were injured: the Fiat’s driver and passenger. Both were taken to the hospital in Bolesławiec. Their injuries proved serious. The person responsible for the accident lost his driving licence.
The police appeal for caution and prudence on the road.
