The celebration began with a joint prayer. The village councils prepared harvest wreaths. As custom dictates, the harvest crowns must be made from grain, fruit, vegetables, flowers and forest products gathered that year. Farmers decorate their creations with religious and patriotic symbols. These are signs of their attachment to their homeland and the faith of their forefathers—a thanksgiving for the harvest and a prayer for a successful year ahead.

The Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality is fortunate to have good leaders: those who work the land every day and those who have spent years striving to ensure that residents live in decent conditions.

“Warta Bolesławiecka was the first municipality in the district to install sewerage systems in villages and build water-supply networks,” said District Head Tomasz Gabrysiak. “I know this for certain because 20 years ago I was the mayor of the neighboring Gromadka Municipality. I always looked at Warta Bolesławiecka with envy, because everything I wanted to do was already in place here.”

He added:

I thank the entire local-government administration, led by Mayor Mirosław Haniszewski, for its great consistency in action. I do not hide the fact that without your support, ladies and gentlemen, and that of your local government, it would be more difficult for me to carry out many projects. I particularly thank you for your support for major road investments. You provide financial support to the hospital. Recently, thanks to an agreement and financial contribution, we managed to secure government funding to establish 25 new bus routes for the entire district. Together, we managed to obtain 40 percent of the funds allocated for the whole of Lower Silesia.

I wish you that your harvest festivals may always be prosperous, and that your work may be aided by nature, which gives life but can also mercilessly take it away.
