A dangerous incident occurred on Paderewskiego Street in Lubin. A 78-year-old woman was crossing the pedestrian crossing with a stroller carrying her 4-month-old granddaughter. The passing motorcyclist failed to yield to the woman crossing the road and hit the stroller, then... rode away from the scene.

Although the situation looked very serious, fortunately neither the child nor her grandmother suffered any serious injuries.

Officers received a report of the collision from a witness, who provided them with footage recorded using a dashboard camera.

Officers determined that the suspect was a 26-year-old resident of Lubin. It turned out that the man was not licensed to ride a motorcycle.

The 26-year-old will now face court proceedings for creating a road safety hazard. He faces a PLN 5,000 fine and a ban of up to three years on driving any motor vehicles.

Lubiń police officers:

We appeal to drivers to exercise caution on the roads and take particular care near pedestrian crossings, as well as to pay attention to all road users.

Let us remember that our safety on the road depends primarily on ourselves. Let us not overestimate our driving abilities.
