Police officers from the Bolesławiec police headquarters received a report from a city resident who had lost his phone while spending time by the water in June. When the man returned from the gravel pit, he quickly realized that he did not have his phone. He went back for it, but did not find what he had lost. He only remembered that a group of young people had been nearby.
As a result of operational activities, criminal investigators determined that someone was using the phone. It turned out that the 24-year-old had taken advantage of the situation and taken property left behind by its owner. The suspect replaced the SIM card and used the device as if nothing had happened.
The Bolesławiec resident was detained, and the phone worth PLN 1,500 was recovered. The property will be handed over to its owner.
The 24-year-old now faces up to 5 years in prison for misappropriation.
