The incident took place on Saturday, August 24, before 9:00 p.m., on 1 Maja Street in Nowogrodziec. A vehicle drove into a group of pedestrians, including a mother with an infant. Three people were injured. All three were taken to hospital.

A Polish Medical Air Rescue helicopter was called to the scene, but it was later canceled.

Upon arriving at the scene, it turned out that three people had been hit: two adults and a child. The Police and an emergency medical team were already working at the scene and providing assistance to the injured.

We proceeded to secure the scene and assist the injured.

It is now known that the driver of a Volkswagen, a 39-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec Municipality, drove onto the sidewalk, where three people were walking: a 25-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man and an 8-month-old girl. (All three are residents of Bolesławiec County.)

The woman, who had broken ribs, and the child were taken to the hospital in Bolesławiec. The man, who suffered a leg injury, was taken to a hospital in Zgorzelec.

Fortunately, the infant did not suffer any more serious injuries.

The Police are determining the cause of the accident.
