On Monday, June 8, Dawid Rajfur, a young vocalist from Kraśnik Dolny, and the Bolesławiec-based group Infinity Pain performed on the stage of the Wrocław Opera. Their performances were judged by a panel consisting of Kuba Wojewódzki, Małgorzata Foremniak and Agnieszka Chylińska.
Dawid sang the song “To, co chciałbym ci dać” by the band Pectus. Before the casting, the programme’s producers suggested that he change his repertoire. He refused. – I think I did the right thing – the vocalist tells the IstotneInformacje.pl website. – I summoned up a lot of courage by choosing this song. I knew the judges would not like this choice.
Indeed, Kuba Wojewódzki immediately asked how old Dawid was if he had decided to sing such a song. – I replied that I had chosen it because I liked it – the vocalist recalls.
Rehearsals before the casting began at 10:00 a.m. Dawid performed in front of the judges after... 10:00 p.m. – Everyone was already tired. I waited a very long time for my turn. There were so many emotions that I cannot describe them – he says.
The beginning of the performance was not successful. – I focused mainly on amusing the audience. I said: “Hi, everyone. We all raise our little hands in the air.” Agnieszka Chylińska really did not like that – Dawid recounts.
During the performance by our local talent, Agnieszka Chylińska and Kuba Wojewódzki pressed the red X. Paradoxically, this only helped Dawid. – Agnieszka Chylińska noticed that I started singing better because of it – the vocalist says with a smile. – She said that I had an impressive voice.
Dawid received three “yes” votes. The Bolesławiec-based group Infinity Pain also qualified for the next stage of Got Talent; it performed in front of the judges at 5:30 p.m. – We were very worried about the jury’s reaction – admits Łukasz Milde, a member of the group.
Only two judges, Chylińska and Wojewódzki, enjoyed Infinity Pain’s show. – Małgorzata Foremniak said that she was not sure whether we had talent and that she could do that too – Łukasz relates. – She came over to us and we stuck a dart into her back. She bore it proudly and even received a standing ovation.
Foremniak voted no, while the other judges were decisively in favour. – Kuba really liked our performance, and Agnieszka ran onto the stage and hugged us – adds the Infinity Pain member.
The jury will decide on July 2 at the Dramatic Theatre in Warsaw whether our local talents will reach the semi-final.
