A resident of Bolesławiec, Piotr Hanusiak began his juggling adventure at the age of 14. Thirteen years have passed since then. Piotr has appeared on the popular show “Got Talent!” (he reached the semifinals of the programme’s second edition), worked with Korona, Poland’s largest circus, and performed numerous times with the Chimera fire show group.

On the first three Saturdays of December, the Bolesławiec resident will lead his own workshops for children and young people. And they are completely free.

All participants will begin by juggling one ball. As the instructor himself says, you first have to get a feel for it. (Then you can add more.) It took the Bolesławiec resident an entire week to master juggling three balls. But it does not always have to take that long. One of the students of the “Got Talent!” semifinalist—a 7-year-old boy—managed to do it in just fifteen minutes.

Why is it worth trying? Because juggling, although a niche activity, develops not only physical but also mental skills: it activates both hemispheres of the brain and improves motor coordination and memory. It also has a lot in common with mathematics. “The individual formations of balls in flight are called a sequence of numbers. For example, we can call a five-ball trick 9, 7, 5, 3, 1,” our juggler explains.

The classes, intended for children and young people, will take place on 2, 9 and 16 December, from 9:00 to 10:30 and from 11:00 to 12:30, at the Youth Cultural Centre. Admission is free.
