It appears that the British Tesco chain is not doing particularly well on the Polish market. As reported by money.pl:

Large hypermarkets are performing the worst, which is why the chain also plans to reduce their number. [...] the chain is at the stage of finalizing agreements to sell eight large stores.

Which Tesco stores will lose the brand?

According to dlahandlu.pl, the following stores will be sold:

  • HM Tychy
  • HM Warszawa Piastów
  • HM Rzeszów
  • HM Żary
  • HM Warszawa Gocław
  • HM Bydgoszcz
  • HM Gdynia ul. Nowowiczlińska 35
  • HM Gorzów Wielkopolski.

What is more, two smaller stores will be closed: in Sosnowiec and in Warsaw at ul. Wolska.

The Bolesławiec store is not on this list. Is that good or bad? We invite you to join the discussion.
