Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec caught a man red-handed as he was driving a stolen car. Interestingly, the vehicle in which the 32-year-old resident of Bolesławiec was travelling was stolen twice within two days. In both cases, by the same perpetrator.

Police received the first report concerning the vehicle theft last Thursday. On Saturday, the car was found on a dirt road.

When the police had completed their work concerning the aforementioned car and handed it over to its owner, she took the battery with her as a precaution. She then went home to find someone to transport the vehicle. In the meantime, the car was... stolen again.

While travelling to work in the evening, the duty officer from the Bolesławiec police unit noticed a man driving a stolen car on one of the city’s streets. She immediately notified her colleagues who were on duty.

The driver was arrested. The 32-year-old resident of Bolesławiec is a recidivist and has other property-related offences on his record.

The suspect was charged with two counts of vehicle theft. He now faces up to 7.5 years in prison.
