This Wednesday, police officers across the country will monitor order and safety on the roads, paying attention to all traffic violations, especially those that are the main causes of fatal accidents, namely:
- failure to yield the right of way
- speed not adjusted to traffic conditions
- failure to yield to a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing.
Furthermore, as part of this operation, “Smog” control and prevention activities will be carried out to remove from traffic vehicles whose technical condition clearly indicates improper engine operation or damage to the exhaust system. KPP Bolesławiec:
For this purpose, officers will use, in particular, smoke meters and exhaust gas analyzers, as well as visually assess the condition of vehicles’ exhaust systems.
If it is determined or reasonably suspected that environmental protection requirements have been violated, registration certificates (temporary permits) will be confiscated, and the vehicles will not be allowed to continue driving.
