Smooth and safe travel during the Pol’and’Rock Festival

To ensure smooth travel at the turn of July and August, special management teams will be established at the regional level in Zielona Góra and at the national level in Warsaw. They will consist of representatives of the carriers, the infrastructure manager and the Railway Guard.

Meetings with passenger carriers are already being held to coordinate the transport of participants across the rail network.

As in previous years, final instructions concerning train operations at Kostrzyn station will be issued by a coordinator at the command centre located within the station area. To ensure that the process runs smoothly and safely, special train-operation regulations have been prepared. To facilitate passenger transport, freight train traffic through Kostrzyn station will be suspended.

Additional rapid fault-removal teams, railway technical rescue teams and PKP Energetyka S.A. network emergency teams will be stationed at Kostrzyn station. PLK will also provide additional standby locomotives on the railway network.

The Railway Guard will ensure passengers’ safety while festival participants travel to the Pol’and’Rock Festival. In Kostrzyn nad Odrą, officers will secure the station area during the departure, stopping and arrival of regularly scheduled trains, as well as additional trains introduced as part of the festival arrangements. The Railway Guard will focus its activities particularly at Kostrzyn station, on the routes leading to Kostrzyn and at transfer stations.

Additional measures – cooperation with the festival organiser

As in previous years, the station building will be closed for the duration of the event. The Festival organiser will fence off the Kostrzyn nad Odrą station area and create three controlled entrances to the platforms, through which a specified number of people will be admitted to each train. Volunteers from WOŚP’s “Peace Patrol” will be present at the gates.

The station is planned to be equipped with additional sound systems and a video wall to provide passengers with information about the trains. WOŚP security staff are planned to support the gate personnel.
