On the website of the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, an appeal from firefighters from Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship was published:
On the night of 10–11 May this year, while extinguishing a fire in a farm building in Radlin (Górno municipality), two volunteer firefighters were injured as a result of an acetylene cylinder explosion. Both men were taken to hospital — firefighter Grzegorz Wdowiak from the Leszczyny Volunteer Fire Department, who suffered a serious leg injury, and firefighter Zdzisław Synowiec from the Wola Jachowa Volunteer Fire Department, who was in very serious condition with a head injury.
Despite the doctors’ efforts, firefighter Zdzisław died on 22 May. He left behind a wife and two children.
Because of the accident, firefighter Grzegorz is unable to work and supports his wife and four children.
Moved by this tragedy, we are appealing for help for the families of both firefighters.
The Provincial Board of the Volunteer Fire Brigades Association of the Republic of Poland is collecting the funds. Donations can be made to its account with the reference “Help” (account number: 91 8493 0004 0010 0079 0523 0001).We ask everyone who is not indifferent to the situation of the family of the deceased firefighter and the injured firefighter to help spread the appeal.
