“Under One Roof”… is not only the title of a popular Czech television series from the 1980s, but also an international project of BOK–MCC and the city of Liberec. As part of this project, Bolesławiec will host, for the first time, concerts in the form of a musical “duel” between bands from the Czech Republic and Poland.
Bolesławiec is a city that cooperates very actively on joint Polish-Czech projects within the Nysa Euroregion. This time, the “Under One Roof – Polish-Czech Musical Encounter” project is an idea for an artistic event unlike anything previously held in Bolesławiec.
On Saturday, June 29, six musical groups will take part in a unique musical encounter on two specially erected stages facing each other (Poland: DBL 59-700, Świnka Halinka and TULIA / Czech Republic: OLD STARS Dixieland, Nasycen and Volupsje).
The bands will perform alternately, engaging in a musical dialogue with one another, with the active participation of two presenters, naturally from both neighboring countries. This musical duel will begin at 3:00 p.m., and the audience can expect hour-long performances by each of the artists listed above, with appearances in 30-minute blocks immediately following one another. This international musical exchange will conclude with a performance by this year’s Polish representative at the Eurovision Song Contest—the band TULIA!
Admission to all the concerts is, of course, free, and a special canopy—a 600-square-meter tent—will protect attendees from rain and scorching heat.
It is worth adding that, as part of the project, a delegation from Bolesławiec visited its partner, the city of Liberec, and actively participated in its city festival—the Liberec Medieval Fair—while also promoting the concerts held as part of the “Under One Roof” project.
The “Under One Roof – Polish-Czech Musical Encounter” project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and by state-budget funds via the Nysa Euroregion.
