From July 4 to 7, Lubań’s market square and the streets leading toward it will be filled to the brim with countless stalls selling rare stones and magnificent jewelry, bringing to mind ancient markets of precious goods. Here, every eye will gaze upon a kaleidoscope of mosaics of shapes and colors changing from stall to stall. Nothing capable of inspiring wonder and creating unforgettable impressions will be missing. Alongside the wonders of nature, antiques and local handicrafts will also smile at the participants of this exceptional festival.
Of course, this is not the end of the attractions—it is only the beginning. At the very heart of the event stands the Renaissance town hall. During the festival, it will become a palace of minerals. The most beautiful rooms will be filled with hundreds of the finest mineral specimens from Poland and around the world. A considerable number of them will be exhibited publicly for the first time. This applies above all to treasures from Lower Silesia, including precious stones. The exhibition organizers guarantee amazement, and this is no exaggeration, as the quality of the exhibitions in Lubań matches the finest mineralogical displays in Europe. The medieval Bracka Tower will also be open to visitors, offering a wonderful exhibition of minerals from the Western Sudetes.
Of course, minerals are not only beauty enclosed behind display-case glass. Minerals are above all an adventure. That is why the Prospector Zone will operate next to the town hall. Here, visitors will be able to feel like real mineral prospectors. Mini-mines, gold-panning sluices, saws, stone grinders, outdoor workshops and meetings with contemporary Walloons create the atmosphere of the Prospector Zone.
For those who value geotourism and Earth sciences, the Sudeten Mineral Festival is creating a Geo Zone. There, several institutions and companies will conduct various workshops related to geology, tourism and mineralogy. The program will be aimed at all age groups.
The Sudeten Mineral Festival will also feature plenty of laughter and music. Lawa, as this part of the Lubań event is called, will flow on Friday and Saturday evening. On the first day, the cabaret acts Czwarta Fala, Łowcy. B, Pod Wyrwigroszem and Marcin Daniec will make guests laugh until they cry; on the second, The One Ahead, Pokahontaz, Michał Szczygieł and PECTUS will perform for them.
Right beside the massive medieval defensive walls and in the shade of old trees, a magnificent amusement park will operate during the Sudeten Mineral Festival. It is the perfect place for entertainment with a thrill.
Strong emotions usually make people hungry. The Sudeten Mineral Festival will also include a Festival of Flavors. In addition to traditional catering stalls located at various points around the event, numerous food trucks will fill the largest street in the old town. No one will go hungry. Everyone’s palate will find something to enjoy in Lubań.
Well, there is probably no need to praise the Sudeten Mineral Festival any further. The best option is to come to Lubań and see for yourself that outdoor events really can be for everyone and provide a full palette of positive emotions. So we invite you to our town. The Sudeten Mineral Festival is coming soon: July 4–7, 2019.
