The band Obstawa Prezydenta was formed in 1986. The group’s lineup changed over the years, but its playing style did not—a mixture of rock and roll and blues.
The band performed during the County Blues Festival, held as part of Bolesławiec County Week.
The official history of Obstawa
In 1988, they performed in the “Debuts” concert during the Opole festival. In 1989, they became laureates of the festival in Jarocin. They are the authors and performers of the WOŚP anthem, “From Morning Everything Around Went Crazy.”
The band has performed many times at the biggest festivals, including Przystanek Woodstock, Rawa Blues, the Rysiek Riedel Tyskie Music Festival, Suwałki Blues Festival, and Jimiway Blues Festival in Ostrów Wielkopolski.
At concerts, the band mainly performs its own songs, as well as its own arrangements—with Polish lyrics—of songs by performers such as The Rolling Stones, The Blues Brothers, and Chuck Berry. The album “Don’t Ask Me Anything” was nominated for the 2010 Fryderyk Award.
