Janusz Estep Wykpisz has long been involved in music. From 1988 to 2002, he was the lyricist and vocalist of the band Gang Olsena. Since 2002, he has been the lyricist and vocalist of Obstawa Prezydenta, with which he recorded three albums: “Zawsze w stronę bluesa” (2005), “O nic mnie nie pytaj” (2009), which received a nomination for the 2010 Fryderyki awards, and “Siedem” (2012). With these bands, he performed at Poland’s largest music festivals. He collaborated, among others, with Katarzyna Gaertner and Karin Stanek.

The publisher about the album:

Estep’s solo debut album is a personal statement about feelings and the problems of today’s world. The lyrics are characterized by a strong emotional charge which, combined with the melodic quality of the songs, is the source of their strength.

The album’s original sound is the result of combining a jazz rhythm section with a rock-blues-soul musical aesthetic. Nine guitarists took part in the recordings. The idea was for each of them to play on a different track, giving each one an individual guitar sound.

Estep about the song and music video:

The music video for the song “Czasem trzeba zbłądzić” is already the fourth video promoting my album “Wszystko zmyśliłem”. This track, which closes the album, is a conversation with myself. The personal expression of thoughts contained in the acoustic sounds of the ballad concludes with a great and meaningful guitar solo played by Robert Mnich. The whole piece was visualized by Zbyszek “Oko” Janowski, who this time filmed in my hometown—Ruda Śląska—which is significant in the authors’ musical and cinematic narrative. Enjoy.

The song was recorded by:
Janusz Estep Wykpisz – vocals, backing vocals
Alan Wykpisz – double bass
Tymoteusz Papior – drums
Robert Mnich – acoustic guitar, electric guitar
Jacek Zając – Hammond organ.

The recordings were made in 2021 at Studio MAQ Records in Wojkowice. Recording, mixing, mastering: Michał Kuczera. Producer: Janusz Estep Wykpisz.
