The music video for “Kolor skóry” is available on YouTube from today.
Janusz Estep Wykpisz has been involved in music for many years. From 1988 to 2002, he was the songwriter and vocalist of Gang Olsena. He released three albums with the band: “Go!” (1992), “Dzika wolność” (1994), and “Raycowny Rhythm & Blues” (2000). Since 2002, he has been the songwriter and vocalist of Obstawa Prezydenta, with whom he recorded three albums: “Zawsze w stronę bluesa” (2005), “O nic mnie nie pytaj” (2009), which received a nomination for the 2010 Fryderyk Awards, and “Siedem” (2012). With these bands, he performed at Poland’s largest music festivals. He collaborated with Katarzyna Gaertner, Karin Stanek, and the bands Ścigani, Highway, and Syndykat.
Estep’s solo debut album is a personal statement about feelings and the problems of today’s world. The lyrics are characterized by a strong emotional charge which, combined with the melodic quality of the songs, is the source of their power.
The album’s original sound is due to a jazz rhythm section combined with a rock, blues, and soul musical aesthetic. Nine guitarists took part in the recordings. The idea was for each of them to play on a different track, giving each one an individual guitar sound.
Estep on the song and music video “Kolor skóry”:
This is already the fifth video from the album “Wszystko zmyśliłem”. This time, it was time to illustrate the song entitled “Kolor skóry”. Good fortune gave us the opportunity to carry out the idea in Lisbon—a city that is important and dear to me, full of positive energy, tolerance, and multiculturalism. I sing about freedom, about love being superior to hatred, and about the principles I have always tried to remain faithful to. I think that the song’s reggae atmosphere conveys its positive message. I hope you enjoy it!
The song was recorded by:
Janusz Estep Wykpisz – vocals, backing vocals
Alan Wykpisz – bass guitar
Tymoteusz Papior – drums
Paweł Pawełek Ambroziak – electric guitar
Bogdan Bodzio Simiński – electric guitar.
