The Active Rehabilitation Foundation, which operates in Bolesławiec and works for people with disabilities, teaches people how to live when a wheelchair must replace healthy legs.

Theory is one thing—you can talk about it a lot, but it is best to experience it yourself. Officials who work with people with disabilities every day attempted to maneuver wheelchairs. Seeing the world from their perspective is an invaluable experience.

Fortunately, members of the Active Rehabilitation Foundation teach not only wheelchair skills, but also how to care for the whole body so that it can remain in good condition for as long as possible. The aim is to become stronger not only physically, but also mentally.

Children took part in training incorporating elements of CrossFit. Using simple and inexpensive equipment, the youngest participants learned how to undertake rehabilitation independently.

The meeting with members of the Active Rehabilitation Foundation took place as part of the Week with Bolesławiec County.
