The incident occurred on Sunday, May 26, in the afternoon, in Gościszów (Nowogrodziec municipality). Officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters received a report of a road accident.
The driver of a passenger car crashed into a building and then fled the scene, leaving... a passenger in the car.
The police determined who had been driving the car. The driver was arrested.
It immediately became clear why the 21-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec municipality had fled the scene. Not only had he caused a collision while drunk, but he was also wanted because he had to serve a three-year prison sentence for... drunk driving.
The 21-year-old could now face up to five years in prison.
