We received a signal from a reader regarding the entrance to the Polish Post Office building on Kaszubska Street in Bolesławiec. The person reporting it:

[…] I wanted to draw attention to the fact that nowadays, when parenthood is being promoted, simply going to the post office is a problem. At the Post Office on Kaszubska Street in Bolesławiec, it is impossible to enter the branch with a stroller because there are high steps.

Of course, one can carry the stroller up them, but it weighs around 20 kg plus the child’s weight—around 5 kg—which totals 25 kg, and for some women this is nearly half their body weight.

The reader added:

One could go to another post office branch, but unfortunately a delivery notice can only be collected at the main branch, and in person. A simple stroller ramp would be enough.

The press office of Poczta Polska:

Due to heritage protection, the building housing the Bolesławiec Śląski 1 post office is subject to significant technical restrictions that prevent the use of a wide range of solutions to make it easier for customers to enter the branch. In such buildings, we install doorbells accessible from pavement level, allowing customers to notify staff of their presence and receive service. This is the case at the Bolesławiec Śląski 1 Post Office at 5 Kaszubska Street.

The office emphasizes:

The doorbell can also be used to summon post office staff to serve people with strollers.
