The incident occurred on Thursday, May 9, in the morning, on the road between Osiecznica and Kliczków (Osiecznica municipality).
The driver of a Volkswagen Passat, a 41-year-old man from Lubań County, failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions, crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Citroën. The latter vehicle was driven by a 40-year-old resident of Lwówek County.
The 40-year-old man was injured and taken to hospital. It is not yet known how serious his injuries are.
The police determined that the driver responsible for the collision was under the influence of drugs. The case will probably end up in court.
(The 41-year-old may already face up to two years in prison for driving under the influence of intoxicants).
