Police officers from the station in Kruszyn received a report of damage to four tombstones in the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality. Based on a series of findings and an analysis of the evidence, the officers identified two men who could be connected with the incident.

The officers’ suspicions were quickly confirmed—in one of the detainees’ phones, the uniformed officers found photographs documenting the perpetrators’ visit to the cemetery, specifically on the night when the crime occurred.

The suspects are residents of Bolesławiec County, aged 24 and 39. The information gathered indicates that the friends first consumed intoxicants together, including alcohol, and then went to the cemetery, where they tore crosses and identification plaques from four tombstones.

The detainees were charged with desecrating the resting place of the dead, an offense punishable by up to two years in prison.
