Since the beginning of April, acts of vandalism had been occurring repeatedly in Lwówek Śląski; benches, façades, fences constituting public property, and the equipment of parks and pathways were being destroyed.

Police officers and municipal guards became actively involved in the case. An appeal was even issued to residents, asking for help in identifying the perpetrator or perpetrators.

As a result of close cooperation with the City Hall and the municipal guard, police officers carried out a series of activities aimed at identifying the suspects. Surveillance images and witness statements made it possible to identify the vandal.

The 27-year-old resident of Lwówek was charged with damaging the façade of a commercial pavilion at the market on Rzeczna Street (he painted the façade with paint), as well as 9 benches, 14 waste bins, 3 municipal lighting fixtures by the defensive walls, and… 1 tree and shrub.

The losses were estimated at PLN 12,500.

The unruly 27-year-old could now face up to five years in prison.
