The tragedy occurred on April 24, at around 4:25 a.m., on the 100th kilometre of the A4 motorway, in Legnica County (near the Koskowice–Mikołajowice exit).
According to the preliminary findings of Legnica officers, a 63-year-old driver of a Renault Master, for reasons not yet established, collided with a Volvo truck standing in the right lane of the motorway.
The 63-year-old died at the scene. The Volvo driver was sober.
The police and the prosecutor’s office are investigating the causes of the tragedy.
