A police officer from the Bolesławiec police department’s offences team established that a 37-year-old resident of Osiecznica municipality was responsible for a series of fuel thefts.
At various petrol stations in Bolesławiec County, the thief filled his car with diesel and drove away without paying. (The man used different cars).
A surveillance camera also recorded the 37-year-old stealing fuel after filling a container with it. Additionally—as police determined—the man had also stolen registration plates.
After identifying the perpetrator of numerous thefts, it turned out that the man was subject to a court-imposed driving ban.
Bolesławiec police proved the suspect’s involvement in a total of 51 incidents. However, it came to light that the 37-year-old had also operated in Zgorzelec County.
The officers are currently determining how many more crimes and offences the arrested man has committed. He could face up to 7.5 years in prison.
