The Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre invites you to the opening of the exhibition of participants in the “Spring Equinox” Painting Symposium in Szklarska Poręba. Selected works by the artists will be raffled among those attending the opening. This is certainly a special treat for admirers of these artists’ work.

Kazimierz Kalkowski

The artist graduated from the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. He received his diploma in 1981 at the studio of Professor Kazimierz Ostrowski. He works in painting, drawing and sculpture. He has held several dozen solo exhibitions in Poland and abroad (in Germany, the USA, Belgium and Luxembourg), as well as numerous group exhibitions. His more important projects include stained-glass windows and sculptures in a church in Gdańsk-Przymorze and Stations of the Cross in a church in Straszyn. His artistic record includes participation in 50 solo exhibitions and more than 30 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad.

Tomasz Lubaszka

He graduated from the General Secondary School in Lubliniec, in the humanities class. From 1980 to 1984, he studied at the Higher School of Education in Częstochowa, at the Institute of Artistic Education. He defended his painting diploma at the studio of Professor Wincenty Maszkowski in 1985. From 1984 to 1986, he worked at his alma mater as a trainee assistant.

Waldemar Marszałek

The artist is a graduate of the Fine Arts Secondary School in Koszalin. From 1980 to 1985, he studied applied graphics at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (now the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk). He received his diploma in 1985 at the studio of Professor Jerzy Krechowicz. In 1985, he began teaching at the university, first as an assistant and currently as a second-degree adjunct in Professor Cezary Paszkowski’s Digital Image Studio. He has exhibited his work in galleries in Poland, Europe, Asia and South America.

Rytis Konstantinavicius

The artist is Lithuanian by origin and, above all, a ceramicist by passion. He also designs restaurant interiors. He created the atmosphere, tiles and tableware of one of Wrocław’s most popular establishments, Mexico Baru. His tableware and sculptures can be seen at the solo exhibition “My Interior Through Ceramics” at the Barlinek Museum.

Telewizja Bolesławiec made an interesting report about the Painting Symposium. The symposium’s co-organizer is Jacek Zieliński, a resident of Bolesławiec.
